  • Bultinck v. Barnes, Case No. 03 L 4423 (Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois). We represented a landlord in a suit brought by a tenant alleging injuries caused by mold.

  • The Gourmet Pantry v. Millennium Park Plaza, LLC, Case No. 04 CH 19550 (Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois). We successfully represented a commercial landlord in resisting a tenant’s claim that the its lease had been extended by a prior owner.

We have represented tenants' rights organizations in actions brought by landlords:

  • Heinichen v. Pensack, Case No. 00 L 1421 (Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois). We successfully represented a tenant's rights organization against a landlord's claims of tortious interference with tenant relationships.

We have successfully litigated class actions on behalf of tenants against landlords who violated the Chicago Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance and the Illinois Security Deposit Interest and Illinois Security Deposit Return Acts in the following cases:
